Up for sale, a 2019 Fender Hybrid 60s Stratocaster in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags. One of the finest (and now discontinued) Strat iterations ever produced by Fender Japan, and a model not available in the USA market, the Hybrid '60s Stratocaster is simply stunning in its forward-thinking design and player-friendly features. The guitar features an alder body, thick slab rosewood fretboard, USA-made Fender black bobbin pickups, USA-made CTS pots, a two-point vibrato unit, locking vintage-style tuners, larger fretwire, a modern fretboard radius, and a silky smooth satin neck profile finish.
The perfect marriage of Vintage and Modern, the Hybrid '60 model is true to its name, yet the tonal range of the instrument is firmly in the Vintage camp. The alder body is a resonant, balanced tonal platform for the black bobbin Fender USA 57/62 pickups, which feature staggered, beveled alnico magnets and cloth-covered leads; delivering a clear, sparkling top end, smooth midrange character, and a full yet focused bass that still has a nice snap. This guitar weighs 7lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The maple neck has an exceptionally comfortable medium U-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders, lightly rolled fretboard edges, and ideal heft in every register, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .955” at the 12th. The thick rosewood slab fretboard has a modern 9 1/2" radius, and the medium jumbo fretwire is pristine. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 42.5mm (1.675”) in width, carved from bone for optimal clarity and sustain. The headstock features Gotoh Magnum Lock Top locking tuners which provide a much more rigid string contact point, eliminating the need to wind the strings around the posts and reducing friction. The tuners also have a staggered post design for better break angle across the nut. The “Made in Japan” text and JD19-prefix serial are present on the back of the headstock.
All of the electronics function flawlessly, with the Fender USA pickups wired to USA-made full-size CTS pots and a five-way pickup selector switch. The hardware includes a modern two-point vibrato with flawless chrome plating, and the plastic parts comprise cream pickup covers and knobs and a mint green pickguard, which still retains the factory protective film. This guitar is in fantastic shape, with barely a mark on the gloss Olympic White finish. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with the hangtags.
