Up for sale, a 2019 Fender Hybrid ‘60s Jazz Bass in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with original gigbag and hangtags. A discontinued FSR (Factory Special Run) model, this Jazz Bass boasts a custom color California Blue finish. Made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and select international territories, the Hybrid ‘60s Jazz Bass is an upscale model featuring a pair of Fender USA pickups, a satin neck profile finish, and modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius.

The instrument features the classic tonewood pairing of an alder body and maple neck capped with a thick slab rosewood fretboard. Acoustically, the bass has a smooth, balanced sound, and the pair of factory-installed Fender USA pickups deliver strong attack and excellent sustain. The bridge pickup has the power, burp, and presence that helps a Jazz Bass cut through in ensemble situations, and it's easy to dial in the right amount of midrange growl and fundamental thump when balancing the sound between the two single coils. The tone can get quite broad too, simply by rolling off the bridge pickup Volume and Master Tone control, for a thick sound that doesn't lack definition. The bass weighs 9lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with roundwound 45-105 strings, dialed in for comfortable action and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a medium U-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835" deep at the 1st fret and 1.005" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1/2“ radius and retains the pristine stock slender fretwire. This bass sports Fender's traditional 1 1/2" Jazz Bass nut width, with a full 34" scale length. It plays cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. On the headstock, the long stem clover button tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well with flawless nickel plating. The peghead sports a correct '62-style "Fender Jazz Bass" decal too.

All of the electronics function flawlessly, including the pair of factory installed Fender USA pickups wired to USA-made CTS pots dating to the 30th week of 2019. The chrome bridge base and control plate shine like new, and the clean white pickguard compliments the rare California Blue gloss finish. This is an exceedingly well-kept example, with barely a scratch on the body as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is similarly flawless.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with the factory hangtags.
