Up for sale, a 2019 Fender Hybrid 60s Jaguar electric guitar in near mint condition and perfect working order. The Sherwood Green gloss finish was an FSR (Factory Special Run) option, and this now discontinued iteration of the Hybrid 60s model is a rare Made in Japan instrument, virtually unseen outside its country of origin.

A reinvention of Fender Japan's Jaguar platform, the Hybrid 60s model features a pair of Fender's gray bobbin V-Mod pickups, as well as USA-made CTS pots, Switchcraft switches, USA Fender plastic parts, and locking Kluson-style tuning machines. The Hybrid '60s model also boasts a modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius, larger fretwire, a smooth satin neck profile finish, and a new, rounder neck profile carve.

Tonally, this Jag does everything a good Fender should, with plenty of twang and snap in the top end, and the slightly aggressive chime and sinewy snarl that sets this model apart. The pickups have a balanced, sweet sound with great clarity for strummed passages and sparkling lead lines. Engage the Rhythm Circuit for even darker, meatier tones (great for use with fuzz pedals) or click on the "strangle" switch in the Lead Circuit for even thinner tic-tac sounds. Top it off with more chrome than a Cadillac and you have the model that was Fender's flagship guitar when it was introduced in '62, with every bell and whistle Leo Fender and his team could think to include. This alder-bodied guitar weighs 8lbs 12oz, with a warm, clear acoustic tone that translates well through the pickups. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, this Jag plays very well with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation (string gauge and action can be set to buyer's preference).

The one-piece maple neck has a modestly chunky C-shaped profile carve with particularly round shoulders and a substantial feel, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th. The thick rosewood fretboard is an extremely dark, tight-grained cut of this tonewood, featuring pearl dot inlays and flawless fretwire on the 24" scale. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The fretboard radius measures 9 1/2", and the bone nut is just a hair wider than 1 5/8" (42mm). The headstock features the original Kluson-style locking tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch exceptionally well even with liberal vibrato use.

All of the electronics function as intended, with individual on/off switches for each pickup on the Lead Circuit, in addition to the bass cut (or "strangle switch") on/off toggle and Master Volume and Tone knobs. The Rhythm Circuit has its own pair of Volume and Tone wheels in addition to the on/off toggle switch that engages this circuit, which adds a darker tone cap exclusively for use on the neck pickup. The vibrato unit is smooth and responsive, actuating easily for surfy warbles and dives and working in concert with the bridge which has individually height-adjustable barrel saddles. The chrome-plated hardware and plastic parts are perfect, save for light pick scuffing on the treble side of the black pickguard. There's barely a scratch on the Sherwood Green gloss body finish, and the satin-finished neck profile is equally pristine.

The original Fender padded gigbag is included along with the factory hangtags.
