Up for sale, a 2019 Fender Limited Edition Aerodyne Classic Stratocaster AST-FMT in near mint condition and in perfect working order, upgraded with a complete pre-wired Fender USA pickguard assembly with Custom Shop Texas Special pickups and CTS pots. A rare model, this Limited Edition Strat was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and features a Sunburst-finished flame maple top framed by cream body binding, capping a basswood body. The bookmatched top is contoured in classic "drop top" fashion, ergonomic for the player. The trio of Custom Shop Texas Special pickups are coupled to a five-way pickup selector switch, delivering an array of classic Strat tonalities. These black bobbin pickups are slightly overwound for additional growl and authority while delivering plenty of sparkle and smooth, warm single coil silk. The Aerodyne feels elegant and effortless, weighing only 7lbs 3oz and professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a medium C profile carve with full shoulders and a hearty feel as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .850" deep at the 1st fret and .950" at the 12th. The thick slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard features pearloid dot inlay, a vintage-spec 7.25” radius, and stock slender fretwire. The frets have their full height with well-rounded crowns, showing virtually no wear and playing cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale. The bone nut measures 1.670" in width (just fractionally shy of 1 11/16") in width. The headstock features Kluson-style Gotoh tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should, and the "Made in Japan" text and JD19-prefix serial number are present on the back of the headstock. All of the electronics function as intended, and the prewired USA Fender pickguard assembly features Custom Shop black bobbin Texas Special pickups, CTS 250k pots, and a five-way switch. The guitar features a vintage-style Strat vibrato which anchors with six screws and is slightly recessed into the body. The individual Fender-branded bridge saddles show just a touch of patina, while the bridge base and jack cup have plenty of shine on the chrome plating. The three-tone Sunburst gloss highlights deep ripples of bookmatched flame extending across the top, and cosmetic wear is limited to just a few faint marks in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The neck profile sports a pristine smooth satin finish. The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
