Up for sale, a 2019 B3 SL-K Straight Line electric guitar in near mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Founded by former Fender Master Builder, Gene Baker, B3 guitars are hand-built to exacting standards in Tehachapi, California. A true modern “LP killer,” this SL-K was crafted with top shelf tonewoods and timbers while utilizing only the best quality hardware, paired with custom designed pickups to boot. Featuring a carved maple top, mahogany body and neck, and pau ferro fretboard, these time-tested tonewoods channel an array of rich, muscly tonalities through the stock alnico B3 Original Design PAF-style humbuckers. The neck position is rich in harmonic content with plenty of low end heft and a throaty, detailed sound, while the bridge pickup has a sweet, punchy character ideal for cutting solos with plenty of snarl. And with individual push/pull coil taps on each of the Tone knobs, various shades of single coil sparkle and snap are also available. This B3 weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and low action. The mahogany neck has a medium C -shaped profile carve that fills the palm comfortably with just enough roundness in the shoulders to feel both substantial and fast, measuring .855” deep at the 1st fret and .965” at the 12th. The bound pau ferro fretboard features pearl trapezoid inlay and pristine stock slender fretwire. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The guitar conforms to traditional Gibson specifications with a 24 3/4” scale length and nut that measures 1 11/16“ in width. The headstock features a pearl B3 inlay and chrome set of Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. On the back of the headstock, serial #0008 is inked under the gloss. All of the electronics work as they should, with the humbuckers wired to full-size CTS pots and Sprague orange drop capacitors. The chrome hardware is positively gleaming, and the plastics include amber bonnet knobs and cream pickup rings. A testament to how little this guitar has been played since new, the protective clear factory plastic is still intact on the back control cavity cover. Aside from a stray minuscule nick in the clear coat on the headstock edge, this guitar is showroom clean. The original hardshell case is included.
