Up for sale, a 2018 Tokai Premium Series SG-185 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with COA and the original hardshell case. A model which subsequently has been changed to the SG-242 (a common practice in Japan, as price point on these Tokai instruments corresponds with the price in yen), this SG is Tokai's top of the line model, crafted with the utmost quality in Japan. Features include a two-piece African mahogany body paired with a one-piece African mahogany neck and bound Indian rosewood fingerboard, and this particular example has been upgraded with a pair of Seymour Duncan SH-1 PAF humbuckers

Clearly taking its cues from the early '60s SG Standard, this SG-185 features a small pickguard, ABR-1-style bridge (nickel-plated hardware throughout), small "open book" headstock shape, Kluson-style tuners, and pearloid trapezoid inlays. The set neck mahogany construction with long tenon joint yields a particularly big and bold natural acoustic quality with exquisite detail and sustain, qualities which translate well through the Seymour Duncan SH-1 PAF humbuckers. Wound in the vein of Gibson's golden age PAF, these humbuckers offer smooth, sonorous trebles, spongey, round bass notes and a tailored midrange. Featherweight at 6lbs 7oz, we've had this Tokai professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.
