Up for sale, a 2018 Gibson SG Junior in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A limited run model and uncommon left-handed variant, this SG is visually unique for taking a page from Gibson's 1940's playbook, with the distinctive script headstock logo used in that era and the "Only a Gibson is Good Enough" banner on the reverse side. Simple and elegant, this Junior features a single dogear P-90 pickup and wraparound tailpiece design mounted to a solid mahogany body and one-piece neck. This resonant tonal platform yields plenty of power and tonal complexity, with the midrange-forward growl and glassy, dynamic cut of the P-90 design. The guitar is featherweight at 5lbs 3oz, dialed in with fresh 10-46 strings and low action.
The neck has Gibson's slender C "SlimTaper" neck profile shape with round shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .890" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features medium jumbo frets that have good meat and their full factory height, showing only very light wear on the crowns beneath the A and D strings on frets 1-7. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The 1 11/16" wide nut is carved from bone, ensuring optimal note clarity and sustain. The headstock is fitted with individual Gibson Deluxe tuning gears with white buttons.
The simple electronics function as intended, the nickel-plated wraparound tailpiece is clean as can be, and the plastics include a pair of reflector cap knobs and a multi-ply pickguard. The Vintage Cherry gloss finish shows pick scuffing across the strum path, scattered small dings across the top and back, and light finish scratches behind the bridge. The gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth with just a couple tiny marks.
The original form-fit brown tolex hardshell case is included.
