Up for sale, a 2018 Gibson Parlor Rosewood AG (Avante Garde) acoustic electric guitar in near mint condition and in perfect working order. Boasting a traditional tonewood complement including a solid Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and a one-piece mahogany neck capped with a Richlite fretboard, the Parlor Rosewood AG delivers a bold, smooth sound with the articulation afforded rosewood. The instrument has a very pleasing, balanced sound for fingerpicking, and enough oomph, punch, and midrange focus to stand its ground in an ensemble and fill a room when flatpicked. This Gibson weighs 4lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 12-53 strings and comfortable action.
The mahogany neck has a medium C profile carve with slight shoulders and an easy-playing feel which Gibson categorizes as their "Advanced Response" neck shape, measuring .845" deep at the 1st fret and .885" at the 9th. The Richlite fingerboard has a 16" radius and a glassy, snappy response akin to ebony, boasting clean original fretwire. The guitar plays easily up the 24 3/4" scale, and the nut measures 1 3/4" in width. The headstock is fitted with gold mini Grover Rotomatic tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
The body features a compact 14 3/4" lower bout width and 4" body depth, and the ebony bridge sits flush with the top. The factory-installed L.R. Baggs Element VTC active undersaddle pickup system is a versatile transducer, delivering lively and open natural acoustic tonalities with delicate high end. The pickup features discreet Volume and Tone thumbwheels on the inside edge of the soundhole, with a 1/4" endpin jack. Extremely well-kept, the Antique Natural gloss nitro lacquer finish exhibits only a few light finish scratches on the back, and a few minor pick scuffs across the tortoise guard. The neck profile is flawless.
The original brown tolex Gibson hardshell case is included.
