Up for sale, a 2018 Gibson Memphis ES-335 Traditional in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and COA. A discontinued model crafted at Gibson's lauded and now shuttered Memphis, TN factory, the ES-335 Traditional boasts a bevy of golden age Gibson specs. Features include a pair of MHS PAF humbuckers, a bound rosewood fretboard with small block inlay, distinctive "Mickey Mouse" ear body horns, a gloss Vintage Ebony nitro lacquer finish, and nickel-plated hardware.

Weighing 8lbs 3oz, this ES-335 has a defined and balanced acoustic voice that translates well through the pickups, and it's easy to see why the ES-335 has historically been one of Gibson's most versatile models, adopted by a wide range of genres for its ability to provide everything from nuanced cleans to powerful drive. The MHS handwound humbuckers deliver tight low end, a complex, tailored midrange, and sweet highs, consistent with Gibson's PAF ("Patent Applied For") pickups. The pickups balance both exquisite clarity and rich growl, with a slightly hotter bridge position and a sweet and smooth-sounding neck position humbucker that has great bloom and complex harmonic content. We've had this ES-335 professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The one-piece quartersawn mahogany neck has Gibson's "Rounded C" profile carve, a substantial '50s-style C shape with full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled binding edges. It’s the kind of neck shape that’s directly attributable to the increased sustain, note definition, and dynamic richness of the instrument, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .985" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features small block inlay and vintage-correct .100" x .45" fretwire, shy of medium jumbo yet offering ample crown. The frets are flawless, and the guitar plays cleanly in every register up the 24 3/" scale. The nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock is fitted with nickel Grover Rotomatic tuners.

All of the electronics function as intended, with individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup and Orange Drop tone caps. The stock MHS humbuckers have their PAF stickers on the baseplates, and the neck pickup route reveals the vintage-spec long tenon joint too. The nickel-plated hardware includes and ABR-1 with titanium saddles and a lightweight zinc stopbar tailpiece with locking studs.

The Vintage Ebony gloss nitro lacquer finish is exceedingly well-kept, with just a few tiny nicks and faint finish scratches, largely relegated to the back. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

The original brown tolex Gibson hardshell case is included, along with the COA and all factory paperwork.
