Up for sale, a 2018 Fender "Thin Skin" American Vintage '72 Telecaster Custom FSR model in showroom clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags, case candy, COA and G&G hardshell case. Made exclusively for Wildwood Guitars, this FSR (Factory Special Run) Telecaster boasts a "Thin Skin" nitro lacquer finish with no poly basecoat, ensuring the most lively response from the body. Additional features include 6105 fretwire and a modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius. The guitar sports a custom color Crimson Red Transparent nitro lacquer finish over an ash body, paired with a one piece maple neck. These tonewoods balance the midrange heft and note attack of ash with the glassy articulation and treble character of maple. Weighing 7lbs 11oz, this Telecaster Custom has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

With a Wide Range humbucker in the neck position and a Custom Shop Twisted Tele single coil coil at the bridge, this Tele has a very broad tonal spectrum, and the Wide Range pickup was recently reengineered by Fender to be more faithful to the original Seth Lover design, offering a clear, muscly tone with surprising top end clarity and percussive cut. The Twisted Tele bridge pickup features Alnico V magnets for more focus and enhanced dynamics, and the short bobbin has a dark full-bodied midrange while retaining plenty of top end twang and shimmer.

The one-piece maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835" deep at the 1st fret and .899" at the 12th. The gloss finished maple fretboard has a modern 9 1/2" radius, and the 6105 fretwire has vintage width with more height and crown, ensuring long fret life and effortless bending. The frets are flawless, and the guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.650" in width, and on the headstock, the Fender “F” stamped tuners turn very smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The neck heel and pocket retain all of their factory stamps, and both body and neck date to May of 2018.

The stock electronics function accordingly, with each pickup wired to independent Volume and Tone knobs, in addition to a three-way toggle pickup selector switch. The chrome hardware shines like new, and the black three-ply pickguard is clean as can be. The Thin Skin nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the ash body to breathe and resonate in a more substantial way than the poly finishes used by Fender in 1972, and cosmetically, the Crimson Red Transparent nitro coat remains glossy and showroom clean. The gloss finished neck profile is equally flawless.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the COA, hangtags, and case candy.
