Up for sale, a 2018 Fender Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster Thinline in like-new, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags and case candy. Eric Johnson is arguably as well known among guitarists for his endless quest for tonal perfection as he is for his playing; this Strat was designed in pursuit of that idealized sound, combining two of Johnson’s favored designs into one versatile unit. This Thinline pairs the electronics, playability, and sparkling sound of the Stratocaster with the tonal breadth and spine-friendly weight of a semi-hollow instrument. Other premium features including specially voiced pickups, a quartersawn maple neck with ‘57 Soft V profile carve and 12” fingerboard radius, and a nitro lacquer Two-Tone Sunburst finish.
The Custom Chambered semi-hollow construction ensures a resonant, open-sounding acoustic response, and the nitro lacquer finish and countersunk pickup screws have also been selected to ensure maximum vibrational transfer. Custom Voiced to Eric Johnson’s specific tonal requirements, these specially designed pickups feature Alnico 3 and 5 magnets, tailored to deliver Johnson’s articulate and “pure” sound.The bridge pickup is wound slightly hotter for extra output and girth, with a reverse-wound middle pickup for hum cancellation, and the neck pickup is smooth and lush. Weighing only 6lbs 15oz, this Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster Thinline has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
