Up for sale, a 2018 Fender "Thin Skin" American Vintage '72 Telecaster Deluxe FSR model in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, upgraded with a pair of Lollar Regal boutique Wide Range humbuckers (a $430 value). This Tele comes complete with the original hangtags, case candy, COA and G&G hardshell case.

A FSR (Factory Special Run) model, this Telecaster has a "Thin Skin" nitro lacquer finish with no poly basecoat, ensuring the most lively response from the ash body. Additional features include 6105 fretwire and a modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius. The tonewoods balance the midrange heft and note attack of ash with the glassy articulation and treble character of maple, providing a rich platform for the pair of upgraded Lollar Regal Wide Range humbuckers. Faithful to the original design, these pickups are broad, articulate, and clear-sounding, with more breadth and articulation than most humbuckers, ideal for muscly cleans and ripping overdrive. Notably lightweight at 7lbs 3oz, this Telecaster Deluxe has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The one-piece maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The gloss-finished maple fretboard has a modern 9 1/2" radius, and the 6105 fretwire has vintage width with more height and crown, ensuring long fret life and effortless bending. The frets are flawless, and the guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.650" in width, and on the headstock, the Fender “F” stamped tuners turn very smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The neck heel and pocket retain all of their factory stamps, with dated stamps from May and June of 2018.

The upgraded Lollar Regal pickup pair is wired to independent Volume and Tone knobs for each pickup, in addition to a three-way pickup selector toggle. The Lollars have clean nickel covers, and the bridge base has bright chrome plating, with a six-saddle design for optimal intonation. The Thin Skin nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the ash body to breathe and resonate in a more substantial way than the poly finishes used by Fender in 1972, and cosmetic wear is limited to just a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole, and light pick scuffing across the guard, mostly on the treble side. The finish on the neck profile is flawless, brought down from a high gloss to a more satin feel.

The original brown tolex G&G Deluxe hardshell case is included, along with the COA, hangtags, and case candy.
