Up for sale, a 2018 Fender American Vintage '64 “Thin Skin” Telecaster FSR model in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, CoA and all hangtags. Made exclusively for Wildwood Guitars, this FSR (Factory Special Run) Telecaster boasts a "Thin Skin" nitro lacquer finish with no poly basecoat, ensuring the most lively response from the body. Additional features include 6105 fretwire and a modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius, and this particular guitar has been augmented with a Mastery bridge and custom-wound LsL pickups. The tonewood complement comprises an alder body and a maple neck capped by a rosewood fretboard, and this guitar has a particularly resonant, dynamic acoustic response. The upgraded pair of custom-wound LsL pickups have more midrange content than a standard single coil, offering a bold, percussive chop providing an ideal blend of articulation and heft. The bridge pickup has an authoritative chewy twang, very '50s-esque in its response, in part due to the hard chrome plated saddles on the Mastery bridge. Weighing 7lbs 4oz, this Tele benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve at the nut with lightly rolled fretboard edges, with a gentle increase in additional heft in the upper registers, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .995” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard is a dark cut with a modern 9 1/2“ radius, and the 6105 narrow/tall fretwire is practically perfect. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650” in width. The headstock has a clean waterslide decal and Fender Deluxe Kluson-style single line tuning machines.Electronics include the pair of LsL pickups, governed by a three-way selector switch and Master Volume and Tone controls. The chrome-plated control plate and flat-topped knurled knobs shine like new, and the upgraded Mastery M4 bridge features a pair of hard chrome plated brass saddles, ensuring ideal resonance and articulation. The custom color Inca Silver “Thin Skin” gloss nitro lacquer gloss exhibits just a few small dings on the back, while the gloss finish on the neck profile is immaculate. The original G&G brown tolex hardshell case is included, along with the CoA, all of the hangtags and factory documentation.
