Up for sale, a 2018 Fender American Elite Telecaster in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with a padded softshell case. A since-discontinued modern spin on the USA Tele platform, this American Elite Telecaster features an Ocean Turquoise finish over the ash body, paired with a maple neck and 22 fret slab ebony fretboard. With a belly contour, rounded neck heel, compound fretboard radius and medium jumbo fretwire, the Elite is ergonomic and effortless to play, with a lively and full natural acoustic voice which translates well through the upgraded pair of Lollar Special T pickups. The Special T single coils are Lollar's most popular Tele pickup, designed in the vein of early ‘50s Broadcaster pickups, with a hair more midrange kick plus a small bump in compression for extra smooth trebles. They deliver quintessential Tele tones, with twang and snap in the bridge position and a full, bell-like roundness with percussive cut at the neck . This American Elite Telecaster weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a carve unique to the Elite series models, boasting a modern C shape at the nut, morphing into a D carve with fuller shoulders in the higher registers, measuring .830" deep at the 1st fret and .900" at the 12th. The 22-fret thick slab ebony fretboard has a fast-playing 9.5”-14” compound radius, and the stock medium jumbo fretwire is practically perfect, with well-rounded crowns and plenty of meat, only showing a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-3. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, which has an easy access wheel at the neck heel. The stock nut measures 1 11/16” in width, carved from bone for optimal clarity and sustain. On the headstock, the locking, short-post Schaller-made “F”-embossed tuning machines provide increased break angle across the nut for buzz-free performance and ideal stability. All of the electronics function as intended, with the upgraded pickups wired to a replacement harness with 250K pots, governed by a three-way pickup selector switch and Master Volume and Tone controls. The chrome-plated control plate shines like new, outfitted with large aftermarket barrel knobs. The bridge is also a replacement, closer to vintage spec than the stock design with compensated brass saddles. The four-ply brown tortoise pickguard rounds things out, with requisite scuffing on the treble side of the strum path. The gloss Ocean Turquoise finish is framed on top by white binding, with cosmetic wear limited to a few tiny nicks along the lower bout perimeter, an area of very light buckle rash on the back central to the waist, and a handful of faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is pristine.A padded Gator Cases softshell case is included.
