Up for sale, a 2018 Fender American Elite Precision Bass in excellent condition, complete with the original hardshell case and factory paperwork. A recently discontinued modern spin on the Precision platform, the American Elite model boasts a PJ configuration with 4th Generation Noiseless pickups, a C to D neck profile carve, 9.5-14" compound fretboard radius, medium jumbo fretwire, active electronics, and a contoured neck heel. The tonewood pairing includes an alder body finished in Sunburst, and a maple neck capped with a 21 fret slab ebony fingerboard, ensuring a tonal response with articulate note attack and a smooth, balanced quality. The pickup pair is governed by a modern preamp design with both passive and active modes. From upper midrange Jazz pickup burp and growl to broad bass register thump and punch, the Elite model covers a wide tonal spectrum, all with a low noise floor and intuitive control layout. The bass weighs 8lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, low action and accurate intonation.The maple neck has a "Modern C to D" profile carve, slender at the nut with rolled fretboard edges and rounder shoulders as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .825" deep at the 1st fret and .925" at the 12th. The 21 fret slab ebony fretboard boasts large pearloid dot inlay and flawless medium jumbo fretwire, and the bass plays cleanly in every register. The scale length is a full 34", and the bone nut measures 1.650" in width. The headstock features high gear ratio low mass tuners which provide optimal tuning stability while eliminating neck dive.The ash body features a contoured heel and extended belly contour for optimal comfort, and the strings are anchored to the string through body HiMass Vintage bridge. The active electronics feature 18V operation, designed for optimized headroom and punch, and the control layout includes a Master Volume and Pickup Pan knobs, with a three-band EQ for the active circuitry and a passive Tone control as well. The array is rounded out by an Active/Passive mini toggle. The chrome plating on the hardware and knobs is bright and clean, and the three-ply black pickguard shows light pick scuffing on the treble side.Cosmetic wear on the gloss three-tone Sunburst finish is limited to a small area of light buckle rash at the treble-side waist on the back, one small finish chip on the lower bout body edge, and a few additional faint finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is clean and smooth, with just a couple faint marks central to the carve behind frets 5-6.The original molded hardshell case is included, along with the factory paperwork and COA.
