Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 2018 Ernie Ball Music Man Caprice bass in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, factory paperwork, and case candy. A now discontinued and increasingly difficult to find Music Man Model, this Caprice is finished in Black with a matching black pickguard and chrome hardware, boasting an offset alder body and PJ pickup configuration.

Leaning heavily on the legacy of the Fender Jazz Bass, the Caprice features a pair of Music Man humbuckers in a classic PJ configuration. The "inline" J-style humbucker features two coils (two pole pieces each) aligned in a single row for plenty of bridge position midrange authority, burp, and treble articulation. The "offset" P-style pickup has a girthy thump without sacrificing detail, and via the Volume/Volume/Tone control configuration, blending the two humbuckers yields a broad tonal range. Weighing 8lbs 3oz, this lightweight and alder-bodied Caprice has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .940" at the 12th. On the dark rosewood slab fretboard, the frets are pristine, and the bass plays easily up the 34" scale with a 7 1/4" radius. The satin-finished profile feels great on the palm, and the contoured five-bolt neck heel ensures easy access to the highest registers of the fretboard. The compensated 1 1/2" wide nut ensures ideal intonation, and the Music Man-embossed clover button tuners turn smoothly with gleaming chrome plating.

The electronics function flawlessly, and the hardware is like-new including the knurled knobs and a top-loader bridge. There's barely a scratch on the Black gloss finish, save for two dots of finish touchup where a bridge pickup cover of some sort was previously installed.

The original hardshell case, factory paperwork, and case candy are included.
