2017 Waterloo WL-14 Ladder Braced Kalamazoo-Style Acoustic Guitar Sunburst, Mint w/ Case
Up for sale, a 2017 Waterloo WL-14 in mint condition, complete with the original hardshell case. A subsidiary of Collings, all Waterloo instruments are hand-crafted in Austin, TX and are made to the high standards applied to all Collings instruments. The WL-14 is the flagship model of the Waterloo line, and the instrument that started it all, based on Bill Collings’ own Kalamazoo KG-14. This particular WL-14 features vintage-spec ladder bracing on the spruce top, with an equally vintage-inspired prominent V neck profile.
The slope shoulder body size was designed to provide performers of the '40s with enough volume and power for professional radio work, and the ladder bracing results in a dry, woody sound ideal for blues and folk applications. The solid mahogany back and sides ensure plenty of midrange growl and a punchy, layered warmth, and the wound strings have a lively pluck and immediacy. This WL-14 is featherweight at 3lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.
