Up for sale, a 2017 Gibson Firebird V in near mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and factory paperwork. The current iteration of the Firebird V, this guitar is an extremely lightweight and well-balanced example at only 7lbs 10oz. The guitar retains Gibson's original neck through body construction as well as classic nine-ply mahogany and walnut neck through construction. Via the high output Gibson Firebird pickups, the tone is rich and full, with plenty of midrange content, while still retaining chime in the top end. Like any good Gibson should, this Firebird sustains almost endlessly and has a strong acoustic resonance that translates well through the pickups. This guitar has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.The mahogany neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and a fast feel, measuring .785" deep at the 1st fret and .845" at the 12th. The stock frets have well-rounded crowns and their full factory height, showing no wear and playing effortlessly in every register. The neck is straight, and the guitar plays easily up the 24 3/4" scale. The nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock sports the original set of Steinberger gearless tuners, which turn very smoothly, hold pitch well, and help eliminate the "neck dive" experienced on many Firebirds.On the body, all of the electronics are stock and work as they should, with individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup and black reflector cap knobs. The nickel hardware is positively gleaming, and plastic parts are nigh flawless. The Tobacco Sunburst nitro lacquer gloss finish on the body shows only a couple extremely faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the back and behind the bridge on top, while the neck profile finish is flawless.The original brown tolex Gibson hardshell case is included, along with the original hangtags.
