Up for sale, a 2017 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom Figured in near mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original brown Lifton-style hardshell case, COA, and hangtags. Featuring a heavily figured two-piece carved curly maple top with a dynamic high-gloss Tiger Fade nitro lacquer finish, this Les Paul Custom is notably versatile, with push/pull Coil Tap functionality and Phase switches in addition to the traditional Les Paul control array.
Lightweight and acoustically lively at only 9lbs, tonewoods include a carved maple top, mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck and bound Richlite fingerboard. The guitar is loaded with the original pair of Gibson's 496R and 498T humbuckers. The neck position 496R 'Hot Ceramic' humbucker has a biting, bluesy edge with plenty of authority and thickness, while the 498T 'Hot Alnico' bridge pickup features a Alnico V magnet, pushing upper midrange frequencies for enhanced crunch and sustain. We've had this Les Paul Custom dialed in to play its best here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The mahogany neck has a "Medium C" profile carve that borders on the more slender side of things, offering a fast feel and just enough roundness in the shoulders, measuring .830" deep at the 1st fret and .975" at the 12th. The bound Richlite fretboard features pearl block inlay and medium jumbo fretwire that shows just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-5, playing effortlessly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock features perfect Grover Rotomatic tuning machines with metal tulip buttons.
The electronics are untouched, with dated sticks on the baseplates of both humbuckers and a wiring harness with dedicated coil taps for each pickup and a separate push/pull Phase switch. The chrome-plated hardware is positively gleaming, and the plastic parts are near mint too. Cosmetic wear on the high gloss nitro lacquer Tiger Fade finish is limited to a few faint finish scratches central to the waist on the back, and one pinhead-sized nick on top behind the bridge. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original brown Lifton-style hardshell case with pink plush interior is included, along with the COA, hangtags, and extra (plain) switch cover.
