Up for sale, a 2017 Fender Traditional ‘70s Jazz Bass in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in custom color California Blue (a close cousin of Maui Blue). A Fender Japan exclusive model uncommon outside its country of origin, this “Made in Japan” Traditional series model was produced years prior to Fender reintroducing their International Color series. And yet, the feature set of this Jazz Bass is decidedly more upscale than the later International models, with an ash body (instead of basswood) and full-size vintage-spec tuners.
The instrument has plenty of natural midrange punch and sustain, weighing 9lbs 1oz, and the maple fretboard ensures treble detail and glassy note attack. The Vintage-Style single coil pickups have a present sound with focused low end and upper midrange burp, offering a smoother, broader sound with the Tone knob rolled back. This Traditional ‘70s Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and spot-on intonation.
