Made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and select international territories, the Hybrid ‘60s Jazz Bass is an upscale, discontinued model that blends old and new, featuring a pair of Fender USA Vintage pickups, USA-spec CTS pots, a satin neck profile finish, a carved bone nut, and modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius on the slab rosewood fretboard.
Acoustically, this bass has a smooth, balanced sound, and the pair of factory-installed Fender USA Vintage Jazz Bass pickups deliver strong note attack and excellent sustain. The bridge pickup has the power, burp, and presence that helps a Jazz Bass cut through in ensemble situations, and it's easy to dial in the right amount of midrange growl and fundamental thump when balancing the sound between the two single coils. The tone can get quite broad too, simply by rolling off the bridge pickup Volume and Master Tone control, for a thick sound that doesn't lack definition. This Jazz Bass weighs 9lbs 10oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with roundwound 45-100 strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
