Up for sale, a 2017 Fender Classic '69 Blue Flower Telecaster in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. An FSR (Factory Special Run) model made to Fender Japan's extremely high standards, the Blue Flower model boasts premium features from the factory including a pair of American Original pickups and an American Vintage string through body bridge.
The Blue Flower aesthetic faithfully captures the appearance of the 1969 original, with a textured foil material under a bursted gloss finish. Tonewoods include a basswood body and one-piece maple neck for a smooth, articulate natural acoustic tone. The American Original pickup pair has black fiber bobbins, push-back cloth-covered leads and Alnico 3 magnets, delivering plenty of chewy twang in the bridge position and sweet, bell-like chime at the neck. The guitar weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a modestly chunky C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .865" deep at the 1st fret and .925" at the 12th. The maple fretboard retains the original slender frets which have their full factory height, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-5. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 42mm in width (1.650"), and the headstock features a block Tele logo and Kluson-style tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics function as intended, with the American Original pickups wired to full-size USA-made CTS pots. The chrome plating on the hardware has plenty of shine, and there's light pick scuffing across the transparent single-ply pickguard. The gloss finish is extremely well-kept, showing only a few light indentations adjacent to the input jack. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
A padded gigbag is included.
