Up for sale, a 2017 Fender American Vintage ‘63 Precision Bass in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original G&G blonde tolex hardshell case, hangtags, case candy, and ephemera. This limited run, custom color Fender is a faithful recreation of a 1963 Precision Bass, finished in Faded Sonic Blue. Vintage-accurate touches include reverse gear long-stem tuners, a 1.74” bone nut, clay dot fingerboard inlays, three-ply mint green pickguard, chrome-plated “ashtray” pickup and bridge covers, lower-mounted finger rest, and a gloss Faded Sonic Blue finish.
Tonewoods comprise an alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard, and this P Bass weighs 8lbs 13oz. The American Vintage ‘63 split-coil pickup is faithful to vintage construction with period-correct cloth wire, shellac potting, fiber bobbins, Alnico V magnets, and flush-mounted pole pieces. This pickup delivers the warmth, growl, and round thump inherent to the P Bass sound, particularly thick with the Tone knob rolled back to taste. This bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and spot-on intonation.
