Up for sale, a 2017 Fender American Original ‘60s Jaguar in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original G&G Deluxe brown tolex hardshell case. The successor to the original American Vintage line, the American Original instruments largely retain all the vintage-spec hallmarks of their predecessors, with a couple player-friendly tweaks to the formula including Vintage Tall 6105 fretwire and a modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius. Channeling a 1965 feature set, this Jaguar boasts a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlay, loaded with the original set of Pure Vintage single coils and finished in gloss Candy Apple Red nitro lacquer. The tonewood complement comprises an alder body, maple neck, and bound rosewood fretboard, and this guitar has a lively, resonant acoustic response that provides an ideal platform for the Pure Vintage Jaguar single coil pickups. These pickups feature fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and alnico V magnets, dishing out plenty of sparkling cut in the top end, with a slightly aggressive chime and sinewy snarl. The neck pickup has a balanced, sweet sound with great clarity for strummed passages and fat lead lines. Engage the Rhythm Circuit for even darker, meatier tones or click on the "strangle" switch in the Lead Circuit for even thinner tic-tac sounds. This guitar weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has Fender’s “‘60s C” profile, a medium C-shaped carve with generous shoulders that fill the palm, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .970” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1/2“ radius, and the "Vintage Tall" fretwire is practically perfect, only exhibiting a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-5. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650” in width. The headstock retains its clean Jaguar waterslide decal, and the Fender Deluxe single-line tuning machines turn smoothly. All of the electronics function as intended, and the chrome-plated hardware is positively gleaming, contrasted by an aftermarket red tortoise pickguard. The vibrato functions smoothly and bounces quickly back to pitch from subtle shimmers to deeper expressions, working in concert with the bridge. The flip-up string mute is also present.Cosmetic wear on the gloss Candy Apple Red nitro lacquer finish is limited to very limited buckle wear central to the back, one small finish chip on the bass-side lower bout perimeter, and a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat on top at the arm contour. The smooth nitro gloss on the neck profile is immaculate. The original Fender G&G Deluxe brown tolex hardshell case is included.
