Up for sale, a 2017 Fender Aerodyne Stratocaster medium scale model AST-M/SSH in showroom-clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original padded gigbag and hangtags. A "Made in Japan" exclusive model not designed for export, this Strat features a shorter 24 3/4" scale length, contoured neck heel, satin neck profile finish, and a 9 1/2" radius fretboard; all player-friendly features engineered for fast playing and easy bending.The basswood body offers a neutral, balanced tonal profile, especially favored for high gain scenarios, and the Dragster bridge position humbucker is clear and rich-sounding, equal parts punchy and cutting. The neck and middle position ceramic magnet single coils do a great job keeping pace with the humbucker, delivering more authority and power than traditional Strat pickups. Featherweight at just 6lbs 14oz, this Aerodyne Strat has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .950” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1/2” radius and flawless stock medium jumbo fretwire, playing cleanly up the 24 3/4“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 9/16” in width, and the headstock features Kluson-style Gotoh-made tuners which turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Made in Japan” text with JD17-prefix serial number is present above the contoured four-bolt neck plate.All of the electronics function as intended, with the SSH pickup array governed by a traditional Strat Vol/Tone/Tone control layout and five-way pickup selector switch. The chrome plating is notably clean on the bridge base, saddles, and jack cup. The vintage-style Strat vibrato actuates easily for quick flutters and deeper dives, complete with the original arm. Plastics comprise the original trio of knobs and the clean three-ply black pickguard.The gloss Black finish is framed on top by cream binding, and there's barely a scratch on the body. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is similarly pristine.The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included, along with the hangtags.
