Up for sale, a 2017 Emerald Guitars Chimaera in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. The “18-string beast with an orchestral voice,” this Chimaera double-neck was crafted in Donegal, Ireland, featuring an all-carbon fiber build with Emerald’s proprietary one-piece molding technology for an unparalleled combination of stability and weight (or lack thereof).
About as strong a material as can be sculpted into a guitar, carbon fiber is very resilient to changes in climate, ensuring this instrument is decidedly roadworthy and holds its tuning very well. There’s a rich, shimmering quality to the tone of the instrument, very lively and punchy on both necks, and the top kicks out the full sonic spectrum of all twelve strings very well. The pair of L.R. Baggs Element VTC undersaddle pickups feature independent Volume and Tone wheels for each pickup hidden at the offset soundholes.
