Up for sale, a 2016 Tokai Breezysound Premium Series model TTE-115 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This modern iteration of Tokai's T-style model is a faithful, high-quality spin on the ‘50s Fender Telecaster platform. An upper-tiered, genuine Japanese-made guitar, as opposed to the much more common Chinese-made models, this Tokai easily competes with Fender's American Original series line of instruments, boasting a nitro lacquer finish, premium hardware, and USA-made components in the wiring harness.
Featuring a lightweight two-piece ash body and a one-piece Canadian hard rock maple neck, the guitar truly delivers on the promise of classic Tele sparkle and twang through your favorite tube amp. Fat and throaty in the neck position, chiming and cutting in the middle, and offering chewy twang from the flat-pole bridge pickup, this guitar covers all of the critical single coil bases via the original MK2 Premium black bobbin pickups. Featherweight at 7lbs 1oz, this Tokai has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, solid intonation, and low action.
The one-piece Canadian hard rock maple neck has a modestly chunky C-shaped profile carve at the nut with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, gaining a bit more heft in the higher registers, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th. The maple fretboard features a 7 1/4“ radius and stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets have good height and meat, showing light uniform wear on the crowns of frets 1-3, extending under the plain strings until fret 8, with virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The scale length is the traditional 25 1/2“, and the nut measures 1 5/8“ in width. On the headstock, the Tokai logo is present in spaghetti script, and the original Kluson-style Gotoh Vintage SD-91M tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics work as they should, with stock USA-made 250k CTS potentiometers and premium Sprague Orange Drop tone caps wired to the factory-installed black bobbin single coil pickups. The vintage-style bridge model TE-VB has a trio of brass saddles, and the chrome hardware has ample shine with just a hint of patina.
Categorized as "Vintage Natural" in the Tokai catalog and replicating a shade of Butterscotch, this genuine gloss nitro lacquer finish has a very vintage-correct tint and great transparency, highlighting the broad, dynamic grain of the two-piece ash body. Cosmetic wear is limited to a few minor scattered nicks and scuffs on the body, mostly relegated to lower bout edges, while the neck profile gloss is smooth and free of palm wear.
A gigbag is included.
