Up for sale, a 2016 Rickenbacker 4004Cii “Cheyenne II” in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This uncommon Ric bass was introduced in the ‘90s as a contemporary alternative to the classic 4001/4003 models, with production continuing through 2017. Features include maple neck-through construction, a “super contoured” maple and walnut body, two humbucking pickups, and a gloss Translucent Blue finish accented by gold hardware.
The neck-through construction results in exceptional natural sustain, and this 4004Cii has a round, powerful natural response that provides an ideal platform for the pickup pair. Generally speaking, these humbuckers are broader and deeper than a 4001/4003; the bridge position is thick, with a bit of upper midrange honk and grind, while the neck has an almost vocal quality, melodic and rich. This 4004Cii weighs 8lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Eastern maple
-Shape: Round U, measuring .895” 1st fret, .915” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Bubinga, dot inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo, pristine
-Scale Length: 33 1/4”
-Nut: 1 11/16”
-Tuners: Schaller M4
Body Specs:
-Wood: Hardrock maple/walnut
-Pickups: Blacktop humbucker x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Three-way pickup selector
-Harness: CTS pots date to 2016
-Hardware: Combi toploader bridge, flat-top knobs, pickup surrounds
-Serialization: 16-prefix (jack plate)
The gloss Translucent Blue finish is exceedingly well-kept with just a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original molded hardshell case is included.
