Up for sale, a 2016 Gretsch G6119-1962HT Chet Atkins Tennessee Rose in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and owner’s manual. Best known for its regular use by George Harrison throughout the Beatles' career, the Tennessee Rose is a reissue of the enduringly popular Tennessean and features a thinline hollow maple body, simulated F-holes, gloss Burgundy Stain finish, Bigsby B6G vibrato with “Rocking Bar” bridge, and a pair of Hilo'Tron pickups (hence the HT in the model designation).
The thinline hollow construction yields terrific natural resonance and sustain, providing an ideal platform for the pickup pair. Hilo'Trons are essentially a single coil version of the Filter'Tron, known for their shimmering highs, mellow lows, and lively response, with plenty of Gretsch’s signature clarity on tap. This G6119-1962HT Tennessee Rose weighs 7lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
