Up for sale, a 2016 Gibson Flying V Pro T in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with hangtags. A model produced for only a single year, this Flying V boasts solid mahogany construction, a gloss Wine Red nitro lacquer finish, “SlimTaper” neck profile carve, and a pickup pair comprising ‘57 Classic and BurstBucker 3 humbuckers. This particular model was ordered by Gibson’s Japanese distributor Yamano; Gibson’s USA-made guitars distributed via Yamano are often considered to be among their absolute best, featuring the highest quality woods picked for Gibson’s discerning Japanese audience.
Featherweight at 6lbs 6oz, the all-mahogany construction results in plenty of natural low-mid warmth. Featuring construction true to Gibson’s golden age PAF, the ‘57 Classic boasts Alnico II magnets, yielding warm, spongy lows and clear, crisp trebles. The Burstbucker #3 in the bridge position is overwound for a hotter, more pronounced bite, taking gain well for monster chords and searing lead playing. This Flying V Pro T has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
