Up for sale, a 2016 Fender American Elite Telecaster in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. A (now discontinued) modern spin on the USA Tele platform, the American Elite Telecaster features a transparent Butterscotch Blonde finish over the ash body, paired with a maple neck and 22 fret slab maple cap fretboard. With a belly contour, rounded neck heel, compound fretboard radius and jumbo fretwire, the Elite is ergonomic and effortless to play, with a lively and full natural acoustic voice which translates well through the 4th generation Noiseless pickups.
Featured on all American Elite instruments, the 4th generation Noiseless pickups were only available in this series, and represent a quantum leap in pickup design. Combining authentic, vintage-style sound with effectively noise-free performance, these are the pinnacle of Fender’s noiseless pickup designs, generating sparkling cleans and fat, overdriven tones. The guitar weighs 7lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action, spot-on intonation, and fresh 10-46 strings.
The maple neck has a neck carve unique to the Elite series models, boasting a modern C shape at the nut, gradually morphing into a D carve with fuller shoulders in the higher registers, measuring .825" deep at the 1st fret and .885" at the 12th. Engineered for fast playing and effortless position changes, the 22 fret maple cap fretboard has a 9.5”-14” compound radius, featuring dark abalone dot inlay. The jumbo fretwire shows moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3, with lighter wear extending until fret 7. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the guitar plays easily up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and optimally adjusted truss rod, which has an easy access wheel at the neck heel. The locking, all short-post Schaller-made tuning machines provide increased break angle at the bone nut for buzz-free performance and ideal stability.
The Noiseless pickups are coupled with Fender's S1 push-push switching system on the cap of the Volume knob, engaging both pickups in series (as opposed to parallel) in the middle switch position for a particularly authoritative and potent sound. The chrome-plated hardware is bright and clean, with a six-saddle bridge for optimal intonation. The gloss Butterscotch finish is framed by black top binding, and the guitar exhibits moderate buckle rash south of the belly contour and some additional minor dings and finish scratches on the back as well. There is pick scuffing on the treble side of the guard, with a few tiny nicks on the treble side edge of the top adjacent to the control plate. The semi-gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original hardshell case, hangtags, and factory paperwork are included.
