Up for sale, a 2016 Fender American Elite Stratocaster HSS Shawbucker in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case. Fender’s top-of-the-line American Elite series was designed to offer maximum versatility and playability to the modern musician, and this HSS Strat features a bevy of premium, player-friendly features including Generation IV Noiseless single coils, a Tim Shaw-designed "Shawbucker" humbucker in the bridge position, a satin-finished maple neck with a Modern C to D profile shape, a slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard with a compound radius, a contoured neck heel, S1 switching, and locking tuning machines.
An alder body rounds out the tonewood complement, and this guitar has a lively, balanced acoustic response. The 4th Generation Noiseless N4 single coils deliver quintessential Strat sparkle without any unwanted hum, and the Shawbucker at the bridge position has great clarity and note definition, complimenting the single coils with a harmonically complex PAF-style tonal profile. The push-button S1 switch on the Volume knob effectively rewires the five-way pickup selector, doubling the available tones. The satin-finished maple neck has a compound Modern C to D shape, filling the palm with ideal heft and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .915” at the 12th. The slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard has a 9.5”-14” compound radius, and the medium jumbo fretwire has its full factory height with well-rounded crowns, only exhibiting a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-7. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the original bone nut measures 1 11/16” in width. The F-stamped Schaller-made locking tuners ensure smooth performance and optimal stability.
All of the electronics function as intended, with the pickups governed by a five-way pickup selector switch, Volume/Tone/Tone knob configuration (deviating from traditional Strat wiring, the second Tone control dictates both middle and bridge pickup Tone), the push-button S1 switch on the Volume knob, and a push/push “Passing Lane” Bridge Only/Tone bypass button that enables instant switches to the Shawbucker without any sort of filtering from the Tone circuit. Plastics include the three-ply mint green pickguard and the trio of knobs. The chrome-plated hardware is positively gleaming, and the vibrato features a two-point design with block saddles and a pop-in arm.
The gloss Mystic Black finish has subtle metalflake sparkle, with cosmetic wear limited to some very light buckle wear on the back, a couple marks along the body perimeter, and a few faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is immaculate.
