Up for sale, a 2016 American Elite Jazz Bass V in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case. This since-discontinued iteration of Fender’s premier Jazz Bass model features a pair of Fender’s 4th Generation Noiseless pickups coupled with active electronics and a rugged HiMass bridge.The tonewood combination of an ash body, maple neck and maple fingerboard delivers an immediate, powerful natural acoustic response with exquisite note attack and a complex, textured midrange, providing ideal breadth and clarity for the sonic range of the 5 string design.  At 10lbs 4oz and boasting string through body construction, this bass has ample sustain and resonance which translates well through the 4th Generation Noiseless pickup pair. From defined, muscular B string rumble to articulate treble grind and upper midrange burp, this Elite model covers a ton of tonal ground. And with a discreet mini toggle on the control plate, it's easy to toggle between passive and active modes. This American Elite Jazz Bass benefits from a professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-125 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and spot-on intonation.The maple neck has a compound “C-to-D” profile carve, a medium depth shape that provides ideal heft in every register, with a hair more shoulder up the neck, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .945” at the 12th. The bound maple fretboard has a 9 1/2“ to 14” compound radius with black pearloid block inlay, and the medium jumbo fretwire retains its full factory height with well-rounded crowns, only exhibiting light wear beneath the strings on the crowns of frets 1-6. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the nut measures 1.875” in width. The headstock sports lightweight “F”-embossed tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, with tapered shafts, clover buttons, and bright chrome plating. The Fender-embossed five-bolt neck plate provides optimal stability, contoured for easy access to the upper fretboard registers.All of the electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Pickup Pan knobs, stacked Treble/Bass EQ knobs, stacked Midrange/Passive Tone knobs, and the small two-way mini toggle to switch between Passive and Active EQ modes. The chrome-plated hardware shines like new, including the control plate and string through body HiMass bridge. Plastics include the original knobs and three-ply black pickguard which exhibits some light scuffing along the pick path.The gloss Natural finish highlights the dynamic grain of the ash body, and cosmetic wear is limited to just a scant few tiny dings and faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.The original Fender-branded molded hardshell case with gray plush form-fit interior is included, along with the plastic control layout insert.
