Up for sale, a 2016 Epiphone Joe Bonamassa "Treasure" Firebird I in near mint condition, complete with an upgraded Firebird hardshell case, as well as the original COA and factory paperwork. Further upgrades include genuine Kluson nickel "banjo" tuning machines and a boutique Lollar Firebird pickup.A faithful replica of Joe's personal '63 Firebird, this discontinued limited edition model boasts a particularly huge "baseball bat" neck profile, with neck through body construction and a traditional hardware complement including nickel banjo tuners and a wraparound tailpiece. Rich, resonant, and positively ripping with the Lollar humbucker, this Firebird takes full advantage of its ample natural acoustic properties with loads of sustain and the smooth growl and warmth associated with mahogany as a tonewood. The guitar weighs a mere 7lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action and 9-42 strings. The nine-ply neck through mahogany/walnut construction provides an extremely robust tonal platform, and the neck has a substantial, chunky C profile with generous shoulder, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th. On the rosewood fretboard, the medium jumbo frets have flawless crowns, and the guitar plays effortlessly up the 24 3/4" scale. The fretboard has a flat 14" radius for easy bending, and the nut is a full 1 11/16" in width. The headstock is fitted with Kluson's vintage-correct banjo tuning machines which have a reliable 21:1 ratio and nickel plating. The simple electronics work as intended, and the Lollar pickup (a $180 upgrade) delivers a very faithful '60s tone, utilizing Alnico V bar magnets. Compared with a mini-humbucker, it features a brighter overall sound and a bass response that remains tight and defined noticeably longer. This pickup provides a clean, bright output with incredible touch sensitivity and a warm low end. The nickel hardware has just a hint of surface patina, and the Tobacco Sunburst gloss finish has barely a scratch on it.While the Tobacco Sunburst iteration of the Treasure Firebird I came from the factory in a gigbag, this Firebird I comes complete with the upscale Epiphone hardshell case offered only with the Poly Mist iteration of the Treasure Firebird model. In short, it's a very nice $200 upgrade and the best possible case to match this model. The original COA, hand-signed by Joe, and the factory paperwork is included too.
