Up for sale, a 2015 Gretsch G6120T-KOA-LTD15 in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and COA. A rare, limited edition model long ago discontinued, this spin on the 6120 platform features a body constructed of figured koa paired with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. An extremely eye-catching and tonally complex-sounding Gretsch, this figured koa 6120 boasts full hollowbody construction, a 16" wide lower bout and trestle bracing, ensuring a resonant and responsive connection between the top and back of the instrument. Acoustically the guitar delivers a sweet midrange character with an articulate treble snap and a smooth, airy quality befitting the fully hollow construction. The Filter'Tron humbuckers are detailed and rich, ideal for sparkling cleans or overdriven bark. The guitar is lightweight at 7lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with 10-46 roundwound strings and low action. The maple neck has a soft V profile carve, measuring .825" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 9th. The rosewood fretboard features neo-classic thumbnail inlays, with flawless original fretwire and easy playability in every register. The scale length measures 24.6", and the nut is a full 1 11/16" in width. The headstock sports a bound koa veneer with inlaid Gretsch logo and horseshoe, fitted with original gold Grover Rotomatic tuning machines that provide exceptional tuning stability, even with liberal vibrato use. On the 16" wide body, all of the electronics work as they should, with a three-way pickup selector toggle, Master Volume knob on the treble side cutaway, individual Volume knobs for each Filter'Tron, and a Master Tone control. The Gretsch roller bridge with rosewood base allows for very smooth action of the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, suitable for surfy shimmies or deeper dives with ease. The gold hardware is positively gleaming, and tight flame figuring extends evenly across the koa body. There's barely a scratch on the body, and the neck profile is equally pristine. The original hardshell case is included, along with the COA and hangtags.
