Up for sale, a 2015 Godin LGXT electric guitar in showroom clean condition, complete with the original hardshell case, factory paperwork, and case candy. Featuring a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers, an acoustic transducer pickup built into the bridge, and a 13 pin synth output, the LGXT is an extremely versatile guitar that can truly do it all, while keeping the controls simple and intuitive. The LGXT's tonewood compliment includes a silver leaf maple body core, poplar body wings, a carved, highly figured maple top, and a Hondurdan mahogany neck.
The LGXT is a multi-voice guitar featuring electric and acoustic guitar sounds, plus the virtually infinite possibilities provided by synth access. Traditional electric sounds are offered via the original Seymour Duncan humbucker pair, with an SH-2 Jazz in the neck position and a Custom 3 in the bridge. Thanks to a special five-way switch setup, extra meaty humbucker tones coexist with glassy single coil sounds in the second and fourth positions. The output from the bridge transducer system produces six separate signals, with one for each string. This divided signal is what Godin calls "hexaphonic," and is used to drive the synthesizer elements of the instrument. The Richlite fretboard has an appearance and glassy, articulate tonal response similar to ebony, improving the synth tracking. While guitar synth systems in the past were technically complicated and required radical changes in playing technique, the LGXT represents a new standard in user-friendliness and performance. This is truly a 'plug in and play' system! Weighing 7lbs 11oz, this Godin has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The Honduran mahogany neck has an effortless C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .910” at the 12th. The Richlite fretboard features a 16" radius and pristine stock slender fretwire. The guitar plays effortlessly up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is 25 1/2“, and the Tusq nut measures 1 11/16“ in width. The headstock face features a flame maple veneer, matching the body with a Cognac Burst gloss finish. The locking tuners feature ebony buttons that turn smoothly with optimal tuning stability.
All of the electronics work as they should, and the Seymour Duncan humbucker pair is governed by a five-way switch and Master Volume and Tone controls. On the upper bout, the controls for the piezo pickups include a Volume and 3-band active EQ, with the ability to shape the piezo sound from a large body acoustic to a smaller parlor guitar. Last but certainly not least, the 13 pin synthesizer output is perfect for pairing with your Roland synth for unparalleled versatility. A Synth Volume knob is provided, along with a pair of mini toggle switches that function as follows:
Switch #1 is a three-way pick-up selector that allows you to select between the acoustic/electric and synth voices.
Position 1: Acoustic/Electric
Position 2: Acoustic/Electric/synth sounds
Position 3: Synth only
*The mini 3-way switch is disabled as described above when using 1/4" jacks.
Switch #2 is a momentary switch that always springs back to its starting central position. This switch duplicates the functions of the S1/S2 buttons from Roland's GK pickup, and can be assigned to access the tuner, wah pedal, or to select sounds (patches) on the synth. Clicking the momentary switch downwards duplicates the S1 function and clicking it upwards duplicates the S2 function.
Cosmetically, this guitar is in showroom clean condition, and the gloss Cognac Burst finish highlights the straight tiger flame figuring extending evenly across the carved maple cap. As a testament to how little this guitar has been played since new, the clear factory protective plastic is still intact on the rear control cavity covers. The neck profile features a pristine smooth satin finish.
The original hardshell case, paperwork, and case candy are included.
