Up for sale, a 2015 Fender Japan Exclusive Classic ‘68 Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag and hangtags. This “Made in Japan” Strat was (as the name would suggest) produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, long ago discontinued and quite rare outside its country of origin.
Notable features include a trio of USA-made Custom Shop Texas Special pickups and a '68-spec large headstock. Tonewoods comprise an alder body, maple neck, and vintage-spec maple cap fretboard, delivering a balanced natural acoustic quality with plenty of detail and note attack. The USA-made Custom Shop Texas Special single coils match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and staggered alnico magnets. The bridge is sparkling and chewy, and the neck has a full, bell-like cut, with percussive hollow quack at the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch. This Classic ‘68 Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
