Up for sale, a 2015 Fender Classic 60s Precision Bass in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag and hangtag. Produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside of its country of origin, this “Made in Japan” P-Bass exemplifies the attention to detail and dedication by Fender Japan when it comes to delivering instruments that capture vintage aesthetics and tone.

The Classic 60s Precision Bass is the successor to Fender Japan's PB62 model and features virtually identical construction. Tonewoods comprise a basswood body, maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard, yielding a balanced natural acoustic tone. Strung with 45-105 roundwound strings, the bass delivers smooth, articulate punch and round thump. This bass weighs 8lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .980” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius and stock slender fretwire that retains its full factory height with well-rounded crowns, only showing light wear beneath the A and D strings on frets 1-4. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width, and on the headstock, the vintage-style clover-button tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The JD15-prefix serial and “Made in Japan” text are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

The electronics function as intended, with the stock split-coil pickup governed by Master Volume and Tone controls. All of the chrome-plated hardware is notably clean, including the flat-top knurled knobs and bridge with barrel saddles. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to some tiny nicks on the back, central on the lower bout, and a handful of faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is pristine and highlights subtle figuring in the maple.

The original Fender-branded gigbag and hangtag is included.
