Up for sale, a 2015 Fender Japan Exclusive Classic ‘60s Jazz Bass left-handed model in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An uncommon model produced just before the advent of the Traditional Series and essentially in-line with the specs of the previous JB62 model, this “Made in Japan” Jazz Bass captures the look and feel of a genuine vintage example.

Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard, yielding a balanced, resonant acoustic platform. The pickups deliver a bevy of quintessential JB tonalities, with treble-centric articulation and grind, upper midrange presence and burp, and focused low end. This Classic ‘60s Jazz Bass weighs 8lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck sports Fender’s Slim C profile, a slender, easily-navigable carve at the nut that gains more heft and shoulder in the fretboard's higher registers, measuring .805” deep at the 1st fret and .995” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius, and the slender fretwire is pristine. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the nut measures 1 1/2“ in width. On the headstock, the clover-button tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Made in Japan” text and JD15-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics function as intended, with a standard Jazz Bass control confirmation, and the chrome-plated hardware shines like new, including the control plate and bridge. Plastics comprise the brown four-ply tortoise pickguard and knobs. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Sunburst finish is limited to a scant few minor nicks along the body perimeter and a couple faint finish scratches in the clear coat. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

A gigbag is included.
