Up for sale, a 2015 Edwards by ESP model E-HR-145NT/QM in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original padded gigbag. This premium ESP-made offering was produced under the Edwards banner exclusively for the Japanese domestic market. A visually stunning instrument with no expense spared in terms of tonewoods and premium cosmetic appointments, this E-HR-145NT/QM is outfitted with a pair of USA-made Seymour Duncan humbuckers.Featuring neck-through construction, tonewoods include mahogany body wings capped by a dimensional, highly figured quilted maple top and a three-piece hard maple neck with an ebony fretboard. Described by Seymour Duncan as “savagely high-output,” the Black Winter humbuckers are powerful and aggressive, built for crushing distortion with vicious mids and saturation. They feature an overwound design with three ceramic magnets, delivering pristine trebles and tight, responsive lows, perfect for maintaining articulation under any amount of gain and for capturing the prolonged sustain inherent to the neck-through construction and string-through body. This Edwards weighs 7lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation. The three-piece hard maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders in every register, measuring .815” deep at the 1st fret and .880” at the 12th. The bound ebony fretboard features offset pearloid dot inlay and flawless jumbo fretwire, with glow-in-the-dark position markers on the bass-side fretboard edge. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The Duracon nut measures 1.650 (42mm) in width. The matching headstock is framed by multi-ply binding and sports a quilted maple veneer, and the Gotoh SG360-07 MG-T locking tuners turn smoothly and maintain exceptional pitch stability. The tuners still retain the factory protective film on their housings. All of the electronics function as intended, with the Seymour Duncan Black Winter humbuckers governed by Master Volume and Tone controls and a three-way pickup selector switch. All of the black hardware is notably clean, including the dome-topped knurled knobs and the Gotoh GE103B-T Nashville-style bridge. The gloss Black Cherry finish is framed on top by multi-ply cream binding, highlighting the dynamic, dimensional figuring on the quilted maple top. This is an exceedingly well-kept example, with cosmetic wear limited to just a scant few faint finished scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is immaculate. The original ESP-branded padded gigbag is included.
