Up for sale, a 2014 Rickenbacker 620 in showroom clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and polish cloth. Sporting a rare custom color Santa Ana Skyglo gloss finish that was offered in sparingly small quantities as a Japanese domestic market exclusive, this Rickenbacker 620 has a sweet, singing tone via the pair of single coil "Hi-Gain" pickups. Capable of delivering all the jangle, chime, and sparkle one expects from a Rickenbacker, the neck through maple body construction ensures exceptional resonance and sustain, with the treble articulation and snap of maple as a tonewood. The guitar weighs 8lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 roundwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a round, substantial C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder, measuring .915" deep at the 1st fret and .940" at the 12th. The bound slab rosewood fretboard features triangle inlays that stretch all the way to the fretboard edges, just like the Rics of the '60s, with pristine stock slender frewire. The guitar plays cleanly in every register, and the dual truss rods are optimally adjusted to keep the neck arrow straight with ideal relief. The nut measures 1.650" in width, and on the headstock, the original "Rickenbacker" truss rod cover is present, with chrome Schaller tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics work as they should with untouched solder joints. Each pickup has its own dedicated Volume and Tone knobs, as well as the fifth (smaller) blend knob that mixes in the desired amount of signal from the neck pickup. The guitar also boasts dual Rick-o-Sound jacks for optional stereo operation. The chrome hardware shines like new, and the plastic parts are equally well-kept. There's barely a scratch on the Santa Ana Skyglo custom color gloss finish.
The original hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags and unopened polish cloth.
