Up for sale, a 2014 Gibson Les Paul Nash LP60 Conversion in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. With a semi-gloss nitro lacquer Cherry Sunburst finish, prominent lacquer checking, aged hardware, and simulated wear on both the neck profile and body, Nash has gone to great lengths to replicate the feel and look of a genuine '60 Gibson Burst. Of course the foundation for the cosmetic and sonic upgrades is a Les Paul boasting a carved two-piece maple top, chambered mahogany body, and one-piece mahogany neck with a slim taper '60s C-shaped profile. Extremely lightweight at only 7lbs 9oz, this Les Paul delivers sweet, singing sustain and plenty of power and punch while being very easy on the back.
The pickups consist of a Dimarzio Air Norton in the bridge position and a Dimarzio Bluesbucker at the neck for a particularly broad tonal palette. While the Bluesbucker looks like a standard humbucker, it sounds like a P-90 and cancels 60-cycle hum as effectively as the average humbucker. Patented Virtual Vintage and Airbucker technology lets the Bluesbucker 'see' a narrow string window like a true single-coil, making it extremely sensitive to playing dynamics. The Air Norton delivers a tone which is deep and warm, but not muddy. It’s hot, but not distorted. The patented Air Norton magnetic structure reduces string-pull, so sustain is improved; and pick attack and dynamics are tremendously controllable and expressive. We've had this Gibson/Nash creation professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
The mahogany neck has a very slender ‘60s C-shaped profile carve at the nut, with round shoulders in every register and very little additional heft further up the fretboard, staying fast-feeling and effortlessly navigable in every register. The profile measures .780" deep at the 1st fret and .880" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features aged pearloid trapezoid inlay, and the original slender vintage-style fretwire retains its full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-2. This GIbson plays cleanly in every register up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The headstock features the original Gibson inlay, new "Les Paul Model" gold script, and a new inked serial number, along with Kluson-style Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with vintage-spec push-in bushings and greened keystone buttons.
The Dimarzio humbuckers are wired to a new harness with Alpha pots and Sprague Orange Drop tone capacitors. The stock Gibson hardware has been aged appropriately including the Nashville Tune-o-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, and plastics are similarly aged including the quartet of ambered bonnet knobs and cream pickup rings and single-ply pickguard.
The guitar has been refinished by Nash in a diffused semi-gloss Cherry Sunburst, featuring Nash's heavy aging treatment including various simulated marks of wear and prominent lacquer checking. The neck profile has been worn to the silky smooth bare mahogany as part of the relic treatment. Aside from Nash's simulated aging, the guitar is near mint with virtually no additional wear.
The original black tolex Gibson hardshell case is included, along with the Nash hangtag.
