Up for sale, a 2014 Fender Classic Player '60s Stratocaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The Classic Player '60s Stratocaster was designed by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Greg Fessler, and it offers a melding of classic and contemporary elements with 1960s-era Strat style and features including Custom '69 pickups with modern switching, the comfortable feel of a modern neck profile and flatter rosewood fingerboard, and a two-point vibrato. The pickup complement includes two original specially voiced Custom ’69 single-coil Strat pickups in the neck and middle positions for plenty of bell-like sparkle and spank, while the bridge pickup has been upgraded to a Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s black bobbin single coil. This bridge pickup has a round, full sound with ideal treble bite and bounce. This alder-bodied Strat weighs 8lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a moderately chunky C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders, lightly rolled fretboard edges and ideal substance, measuring .850" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features a notably flat 12" radius that makes string bending effortless, and the medium jumbo frets have plenty of meat, showing moderate wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-10. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.650" in width, and the guitar features a Pre-CBS style small Strat peghead, Kluson-style tuners, and early '60s-style Stratocaster logo. The guitar also retains its "Custom Shop Designed" four-bolt neck plate. The electronics all work as intended with five-way switching, aged plastic pickup covers and knobs, a pale mint green pickguard and chrome-plated hardware. The vibrato unit is the perfect middle ground between modern playability and vintage aesthetics, with a two-point system that actuates easily, paired with '60s-style Strat saddles that show light surface patina. The Sonic Blue gloss finish has just a few tiny dings on the body as a whole, and a small spot of faint buckle rash between the belly carve and tremolo cavity cover. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.A padded gigbag is included.
