Up for sale, a 2014 Fender Limited Edition 60th Anniversary American Standard Stratocaster in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, finished in Vintage White and complete with the original molded hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. To honor the 60th Anniversary of the original Stratocaster, Fender released two distinctive models blending vintage and modern Strat features.
Featuring an alder body, maple neck, and thick slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard, this guitar has a warm, broad natural acoustic quality faithfully captured by the stock trio of USA-made Custom Shop Fat ‘50s single coil pickups. Featuring staggered, hand-beveled Alnico V magnets and black fiber bobbins, the Custom Shop Fat ‘50s pickups deliver quintessential vintage Strat sparkle and snap. The pickups feature a subtly hot-rodded wiring design for enhanced bass register kick, with great midrange detail and exceptional articulation. The neck pickup has a percussive cut and throaty roundness, the bridge has a sparking bounce and presence, and the “in-between” positions on the five-way selector switch offer classic Strat hollow cut. This 60th Anniversary Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The maple neck has Fender’s Modern C profile, a slender carve with well-rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .825” deep at the 1st fret and .875” at the 12th. The thick slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1/2“ radius, and the medium jumbo fretwire is pristine. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the nut measures a full 1 11/16” in width. On the headstock, the Fender-embossed Schaller-made tuning machines have staggered posts for optimal break angle over the nut, turning smoothly and holding accurate pitch. The four-bolt neck plate is embossed with a Stratocaster 60th Anniversary graphic.
All of the electronics function as intended, with the Custom Shop Fat ‘50s pickups wired to the stock harness and governed by a five-way selector switch with standard Volume/Tone/Tone controls. The chrome-plated bridge base and jack cup both shine like new, and the four-ply dark red tortoise pickguard accents the Vintage White finish. This shade of White has a rich cream color, designed to replicate an aged Olympic White. Cosmetic wear is limited to a scant few tiny dings on the body as a whole, and faint finish checking at the edge of the neck plate. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender-branded molded hardshell case is included, along with all hangtags and case candy. Also included are a set of locking tuning machines that were previously installed and removed (also Schaller-made and with the same footprint as the stock tuners).
