Up for sale, a 2013 Rickenbacker 381V69 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtag and paperwork. With a prominent German Carved top and back, the rich gloss Fireglo finish frames extremely tight, dimensional curly flame across the top and rims, with prominent bookmatched quilt figuring and additional flame across the back.The Toaster Top alnico magnet single coil pickups provide a sound that is synonymous with Rickenbacker, producing jangle, chime, and rhythmic percussive cut with ease. The vintage-spec scatterwound version of the Toaster design, these coils have ample treble sparkle, responding very well through one's tube amp of choice for a sound that's glassy, smooth, and harmonically rich. The small fifth knob on the 381's control layout lets the player blend the neck pickup into the mix for the perfect balance between top end snap and low end girth. The guitar weighs 8lbs, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action, solid intonation, and fresh 10-46 strings.The three-piece maple/walnut neck has a round and substantial C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders, measuring .905" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features triangular inlays that extend all the way to the fretboard edges and flawless slender frets, playing cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rods. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width. The headstock sports Rickenbacker's walnut wings, a lucite Rickenbacker logo/truss rod cover, and Ric Deluxe (Kluson-style) tuning machines.All of the electronics work as they should, with Rickenbacker's five knob layout and stereo Rick-o-Sound 1/4" output jacks. The chrome-plated hardware is positively gleaming, and original plastics are near-mint. A Rickenbacker model that showcases some of the finest tonewoods the company has to offer, the dark Fireglo gloss frames prominent figuring in the maple accented by zipper binding. Cosmetic wear is limited to just a couple tiny nicks and extremely faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss.
