2013 Martin HD-28 Standard Series Herringbone Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar w/ Case, Hangtags

Up for sale, a 2013 Martin HD-28 Standard Series dreadnought in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case and all factory paperwork. Both tonally and aesthetically, this HD-28 captures Martin's golden age with the time tested tonewood combination of an X-braced solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, paired with an ebony fretboard and bridge. A real cannon in terms of projection, this HD-28 offers both power and detail, with Martin’s signature piano-like clarity.

This Martin has an open, articulate tone befitting a top that's been worked-in and had time to resonate beyond what one often expects in a brand-new guitar, yielding ample percussive cut, and a bold, full character. A benchmark dreadnought model for acoustic guitar excellence for over 90 years, the HD-28's feature set includes herringbone binding, a zigzag backstripe, and Grover Rotomatic tuners. This Martin weighs 4lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 strings and easy-playing action.

The mahogany neck has Martin's Low Profile neck shape, a medium C carve with well-rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, chording comfortably and measuring .825” deep at the 1st fret and .885” at the 9th. The slender fretwire on the ebony fingerboard is pristine, playing cleanly in every register up the 25.4" scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 11/16” in width, and on the headstock, the Grover Rotomatic tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should.

On the body, the ebony bridge sits flush with the top on all edges, and the compensated drop-in saddle has ample height for future adjustment. The top is framed by herringbone binding, and the high gloss body finish is accented by the brown tortoise pickguard. Crack-free and well-kept, cosmetic wear on this guitar is limited to a scant few small dings on the lower bout on top, limited buckle worming on the back at the lower bout, and a handful of faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The neck profile has a smooth satin finish, with just a few small marks that aren't distracting to the palm while fretting.

The original molded hardshell case is included, along with all of the factory paperwork.
