Up for sale, a 2013 Martin 000-28 Standard Series left-handed Auditorium body acoustic guitar, complete with the original molded hardshell case and factory paperwork. One of Martin’s most enduringly popular body sizes, this 000 features an X-braced Sitka spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides finished in gloss nitro lacquer. The Auditorium body size achieves a rich and full-bodied tone, with a crisp and refined sound that has both ample warmth and nuanced projection. The 000 body allows for a bass register that's taut and clear, with a punchy quality that isn’t boomy and allows the treble strings to really sing. The midrange character is smooth and balanced, with exquisite clarity and a sparkling, sweet top end with a dry snap. The spruce top has had nearly a decade to open up, delivering a worked-in, dynamic quality. This 000-28 weighs 4lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-54 strings and easy-playing action. The mahogany neck has a medium depth C-shaped profile carve with ample shoulder, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .875” at the 9th. The ebony fretboard retains the stock slender frets which have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing virtually no wear. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24.9” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The stock nut measures 1 11/16” in width. On the headstock, the stock Grover Rotomatic tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch with clean plating. On the body, the ebony bridge is flush with the body on all edges, fitted with a new carved and compensated bone saddle with ample height. As with many Martins produced in the past decade, the neck angle was overly shallow from the factory. This has since been corrected with a professional reset, and the neck now meets the body at an ideal angle, viable for many decades to come. Cosmetic wear on the gloss nitro lacquer body finish includes prominent strum wear across the soundhole, extending to the upper bout on the treble side, with various small nicks on the body as a whole, and some finish scratches across the back. The finish on the neck profile is smooth and fast, with a handful of minor dings concentrated behind frets 5-9 that have no impact on playability. The original Martin-branded molded hardshell case with green plush interior is included, along with the factory paperwork. The original case handle is intact, and all latches function save for one.
