Up for sale, a 2013 Gibson Hummingbird in near mint condition with a gloss nitro lacquer Honey Burst finish and original hardshell case. In many ways the Hummingbird was Gibson's answer to Martin's D-18, yet this dreadnought offers a tone that is distinctly Gibson, featuring a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Bold, bright, and articulate, this Hummingbird delivers square shoulder dreadnought muscle and projection. The wound strings are clear and percussive, the midrange frequencies are balanced, and the treble strings are sparkling and airy. And for situations where the ample natural projection of this Hummingbird isn't quite enough, the factory-installed L.R. Baggs Element pickup provides the option of additional amplification. The guitar weighs 4lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 12-53 strings and comfortable action.The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender, effortless C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder, measuring .805" deep at the 1st fret and .880" at the 9th. The bound rosewood fretboard sports split parallelogram inlay and original slender fretwire. These frets boast their full factory height, with perfectly rounded crowns virtually no wear, playing cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the nickel-plated Grover Rotomatic tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well.On the body, the rosewood bridge sits flush with the top on all edges, and the compensated saddle has good height. The guitar retains the original L.R. Baggs Element undersaddle pickup and accompanying endpin jack, with the 9v battery bag anchored to the heel block and small Volume wheel anchored to the edge of the soundhole. The practically perfect pickguard frames the soundhole, and the serialized white oval label is intact. Sparingly played since new, there are just a few tiny marks and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole, while the nitro gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.The original hardshell case is included.
