Up for sale, a 2013 Fender Vintage Hot Rod '57 Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a blue Fender G&G Deluxe hardshell case. An uncommon and discontinued model, this Strat is a variation on the American Vintage platform, boasting a number of unique player-friendly features including a soft V-shaped profile carve, medium jumbo fretwire, a 9 1/2" fretboard radius, and a distinctive pickup complement with SCN noiseless Strat pickups in the middle and neck positions, and a Dimarzio Tone Zone S blade humbucker at the bridge. This Strat is particularly smooth and lively-sounding even unplugged, weighing 8lbs with an alder body. The SCN pickups feature samarium cobalt magnets and noise-cancelling functionality, while retaining plenty of traditional Strat spank, sparkle, and bounce. The Dimarzio Tone Zone blade humbucker is a ceramic magnet design, wound to a whopping 12k ohms and well-suited for heavy distortion and searing lead work. We've had this Strat professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and low action. The one-piece maple neck has a soft V-shaped profile carve with more shoulder than a severe V, and lightly rolled fretboard edges for added comfort, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .890" at the 12th. The 9 1/2" radius fretboard retains the medium jumbo fretwire, and the frets have well-rounded crowns and their full factory height, showing only very light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5. The neck is straight, the truss rod is ideally adjusted, and the guitar plays well in every register up the 25 1/2" scale. The nut measures 1.650" in width. On the headstock, the Stratocaster waterslide decal is completely intact along with the original Kluson-style tuning machines. The neck pocket retains its date stamp from May of 2013, and the pocket and heel have additional factory stamps. All of the electronics function as intended, with a five-way pickup selector switch. All original plastics are in great shape, with light pick scuffing on the treble side of the one-ply pickguard. Hardware includes the vintage-style vibrato that actuates smoothly and reliably, and the chrome plating on the hardware is positively gleaming. Wear on the Candy Apple Red gloss nitro lacquer finish is limited to a few scattered dings on top and some trem arm wear on the lower bout, and a few additional minor marks and light finish scratches on the back and body perimeter.A blue Fender G&G Deluxe hardshell case is included.
