Up for sale, a 2013 Fender Telecaster ‘62 vintage reissue model TL62 “All Black” in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case and hangtags. This rare, non-catalog “Made in Japan” Telecaster features a Black gloss finish on the alder body and maple neck.

A rosewood fretboard rounds out the tonewood complement, and this guitar has a chiming, lively acoustic profile with good midrange warmth faithfully captured by the stock pickup complement. The TL-Vintage single coil pickups deliver quintessential Telecaster tonalities, with ample spank and twang at the bridge and fuller, bell-like roundness with percussive cut at the neck. This TL62 weighs 7lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .920” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius, and the slender fretwire is practically perfect, only exhibiting a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-4. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.675” (42.5mm) in width. On the matching headstock, the Kluson-style tuning machines turn smoothly, and the “Made in Japan” text and JD13-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics function as intended, with the pickups governed by Master Volume and Tone controls plus the three-way pickup selector switch. The chrome-plated control plate and flat-topped knurled knobs shine like new, and the “Pat. Pend” bridge base features vintage-style spiral (threaded) saddles.

Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to a handful of minor nicks along the lower bout body edges, limited buckle wear on the back, and a few faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The matching Black gloss on the neck profile is immaculate.

A hardshell case is included, along with the original Japanese hangtags.
